Social- This week Dane wraps up his week as Star Sailor. Oliver begins his Star Sailor week this Thursday. Willow 's week will begin May 5th. 

ELA- This week we're wrapping up our opinion writing about our favorite special. Can't wait to share the final copies with our Specials' team.

We're moving into poetry next- in reading and writing!

Math- We're working with centimeters and meters. Last week we started to review telling time. We'll keep reviewing math concepts from this year in preparation of our end of the year math assessment.

Science- We're celebrating Earth day on Tuesday. We'll finish up the "matter" experiments from last week, too!

ELA- This week we'll write about our FAVORITE Special here at MPE. We'll do an opinion piece on it and then give a final copy to the teacher of that Specials class. 

Ask your Sailor about Edward Tulane! What is their favorite part. What is their favorite emotion that Edward has discovered over his long, WILD journey?!

Math- We'll test over our geometry! We made Shape People, too! 

Science- We're going to do some Matter experiments with PEEPS!

We'll also celebrate Earth Day on the April 22nd with some special things up my sleeve!

"Friday" Free Choice - We'll enjoy a little egg hunt on Fake Friday--Thursday the 17th. Feel free to send in a peanut free treat that can help fill our eggs and make our dreams come true!

Star Sailor ​
Addison will be our Star Sailor this week. Yay! She'll also be Star Sailor for Monday of next week due to our field trip on Friday to the Bloomington Children's museum!

Mathematics 
We assessed over fractions last week. Then we began our geometry module. We're going to learn so many different attributes about 3-D and 2-D shapes.

ELA 
We're whipping up some spring writing! Last week we worked on some spring poetry to go along with our Peeping Spring craftivity. 

We're going to enjoy writing more poetry this month!

I'll be working with the Sailors on more one minute fluency reads, too!

Social 
Star Sailor ​
Due to the field trip this week, Addison will be our Star Sailor beginning on Monday, April 7th.  We will have a different Sailor each day. After Addison it will be Oliver's turn. Yay!

Mathematics 
We wrapped up our measurement last week. Now we're learning about equal shares/parts and simple fractions.

ELA 
We finished our plays last week. Now we'll work on some spring writing. After our spring writing we'll work on some poetry! We have a special craftivity coming up, too. ​

Vivian is our Star Sailor this week. Yay! Due to the field trip next week, Addison will be our Star Sailor beginning on Monday, April 7th.  

Mathematics 
We're rocking and rolling with measurement--inches and feet. Then we'll head into yards. We practice making estimations with measuring tools as well as using them for their actual measurements.

ELA 
We'll wrap up their plays this week. We had so many Sailors out sick the week before break that we didn't have any complete groups to perform then. :)

Ben is our Star Sailor this week. Yay! Next week we won't have a Star Sailor due to our shortened week. We will resume with Vivian as our Star Sailor after spring break. Yay!

Mathematics 
On Friday the Sailors took a day off of subtraction with regrouping to fit in the interim Fast Bridge assessment. We're going to wrap up our module 17 this week and assess over it as soon as they are ready. Regrouping with zeros is a FUN one. ;) We will definitely assess BEFORE spring break. 

ELA 
The play parts have all been given out! They should practice their plays as much as possible. Our goal is to enjoy the plays before spring break! 

The Sailors took their interim Fast Bridge assessments on Friday.
