Math Our first chapter assessment is on Tuesday. We learned how to represent one, two, and three digit numbers in many different forms! We even dug into some problem solving using those numbers.
Reading I am so thrilled to hear from so many Sailors that you all are reading baggy books together at home! I promise it makes such a wonderful impact on your child to have them hear YOU read just as much as it is for THEM to read to you. Way to go!!
Ask your child what their new reading crew is called. We have some pretty creative crew names! Their baggy books should be coming home each night. Let me know if they aren't making it home to you! Might be getting stuck in their cubbies. ;)
We're building our stamina and focus during Daily 5. They love working on writing, read to self, and buddy reading. A few have even gotten to try out "listen to reading" on our two class Chromebooks. We have a class login for Epic if you're interested!
Up next we'll be adding Word Work to our Daily 5 routine!
Writing I am so impressed with the writing our Sailors have already accomplished. They're working so hard on their small moment stories! If you can, try to talk about "small moments" that would make good stories as they happen. We have so many great daily moments that can be zoomed in on and turned into "small moment" stories. We'll be celebrating with Sparkling Apple Cider when we are ready for our first writing celebration.
Science We had some sad Sailors when their grass hadn't sprouted up over the weekend. ;) I told them it will be worth the wait!
We put our Stuffies to WORK. ;)
